The styles have been defined so things act as you'd expect, in a predictable, word-processor like manner. I can press return and it just moves to the next line
and doesn't create an uncontrollable space above or below. If I want to start a new paragraph then I press Return twice, just like a word processor without having to know or use soft returns (Shift-Return)
